Merry Christmas! Warning: this post is not for the weak of stomach

Merry Christmas everyone! Mike and I got back from Asheville yesterday after two days of festive fun with A&A. They are doing great, and Amy looks glowing and gorgeous. We had a nice Christmas, with gifts, treats, and a delicious turkey (free range no less!). There was even a little skiff of snow on the ground on Boxing Day, which I didn't think I would be seeing this year. Sadly, the end to Mike's weekend was an ugly one. He wokeup on Monday complaining of a stomach ache. We natrually thought it was thanks to one to many Christmas cookies. Uh, no. I'm pretty sure it was some type of food poisening, but gah, that boy had one hell of a ride home.
It started as soon as we hit the Interstate, crusing along at 120 km. I've never seen anyone hurl out of a car before (other than myself), and wasn't aware of the, er, mess it would make. The poor boy tells me to pull over, and I told him there was an exit in a mere mile, and could he not hold it? Ah yeah, can you tell I don't puke often? And yes, I feel reaaaally bad. So he rolls down the window and I can see him heaving from the corner of my eye. I'm just cringing away, petal to the metal, but by the time we hit the exit, he's done. I pull over, and being fairly horrified by the sight of vomit, am only stealing quick glances at the sight of my husband and my car. It wasn't pretty. Mike had last night's meal in his hair, coating his sweater, and it was completely covering the back window. This got me gagging, but luckily, no repeat of breakfast for me.
We hit a gas station and washed the car off with the squeegee (mmm, lucky person who used it next) and hit the road again. The next time I was requested to pull over, I did toute suite! When we hit the next stretch of Interstate I suggested he use my leftover Starbucks cup, which he only had to once.
Poor Mike has been laid out since we got home, and has barely eaten a thing, but he seems to be improving. So yeah, it was the worst four hour drive ever, but we're home and happy to be here. The offending food item is still a mystery, as we all ate the same thing.

Anyways, I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and we missed you!
